Time in extension

WALT: Write a story about your time in extension this year. 

It has been the second year of extension for me and I have learnt lots. There was also a lot of places we visited or they visited us. I have had a great time in extension and I hope that next year I can a great time to.

My highlight from this year was probably the forty hour famine sleepover. It was really fun and it was cool to spend time with my friends at night and sort of the evening. One of the things that was sad about the sleepover is that my sister could not come because she did something to her foot and she did the famine at home instead.

Some things in the year I did to get to attend because I was at sports. I hope to get to see something similar to that in the future. One thing that I missed recently is the Bee presentation and it looked really cool. It could've been my highlight but it wasn’t.

Next year I hope to be in extension and opportunities like this next year. I will take them and enjoy them. At prize-giving on Thursday I was awarded third place for academic in year six so I think I might just might get to extension next year. My rating for this year is a eight out of ten. I really enjoyed it!  

I have had a great time thinking about all the things this year in extension. I also had a great time writing and having those experience. I would loved to be in extension next year.

Kawau Island (year six camp)

WALT: summarise a week long experience into a recount.

This journey all started with a paper slip, pretty boring right. From then on out it got better with excitement , with worries and with cheerfulness. It probably sounds dumb but I am sure that you will soon find it interesting.

Yes yes yes, the story may start with a paper slip. The reason why is because this was a school camp. Since it starts with paper slip lets skip a few days later. Our first camp meeting we learnt our group names and the other people in our group. I was a leader for a group called Benson! I was in Benson A and in each group there is two leaders, a boy and a girl, and my other leader never showed up to any meetings and I was worried.

Image result for kawau islandEveryone was excited but me, I was worried. Worried that the other leader was not coming and I had to lead by myself. It was camp day and he still was not there, but a few minutes later he came and I was glad. Group by group was sent to pack the bus. Before we knew it, everyone was saying goodbye we were on the buses (two). The sadness started.

One hour in the bus with my friend, passed and we were at Sandspit. At Sandspit we packed ourselves on to the ferry. The small journey on the ferry passed and we arrived at Kawau Island, Camp Benson, the place where I was staying for four days and three nights. The first day we just packed everything and went on a hike. On the hike my leg started to hurt so I sang a song it went like this. ( “We’re going on a hike, (clap clap) we’re going on a hike (clap clap) we’re going on a hike (clap clap), to the pile of rocks(clap clap), you discourage me (pointing at a tree while, clap clap), but i’m encouraged by my feet,( clap clap), you discourage me (pointing at a tree while, clap clap), but i’m encouraged by my feet,( clap clap)” ). After that I just repeated it.

Our first activity was sailing and I enjoyed just except that Htet htet my partner did not know what to do so we had to swap and then it was fine and we got to our teacher three times. It all  turned out great except that somebody in our group fell in the water six times. The next day on our third rotation, we had kayaking. We had a little paddle to somewhere and somebody fell over straight away. Well coming back from our destination Htet htet was singing this, “you change your mind like a girl changing clothes”. She kept singing the wrong words so all the teachers splashed her until she got the words right.

Overall I am glad that I had a great time, but I am also sad because it is all over. This is the best I have gone to and maybe, just maybe it might be the best camp I will ever go to. I hope you can enjoy what I enjoyed through this piece of writing.

This week I learnt that when you have been to a camp or sort of special or important things it is good to write about it. this is good because when you are older you can look back on this and think about it and rember. Remember the great time that I had . I hope you can do something like this.

I have learnt this week that is might just be easier if you change the question around. For example: multiply don't divide, divide don't multiply, add don't subtract and subtract don't add. Those all helped me but the one that helped me the most was multiply don't divide.

Definition Of Adaptation

WALT: Find the meaning of Adaptation

Definition From Google:
a change or the process of change by which an organism or species becomes better suited to its environment.

What I think:
I think that adaptation a species that has changed the way the live in their environment. They have to be living there, or have been living how they live for hundreds or millions of years, the species can not just change the way they live and move on.

One animal who I think adapts well is the Diving Bell Spider. They live their entire life under water in a air bubble. They only have to come up to the surface once a day to fill their air bubble. Except for that they live under water. The air bubble is made of web that they make to make webs.

Our School Production-Reflection

On the twenty second to the twenty fourth of September, our school had a production. The Production was about Cindy who meets a boy named Josh. It was a production about Cinderella but Pt England style though. I was in the production, sadly nothing important but still in it. Even though I was nothing important, I still enjoy being a dancer.

Since I was a dancer, I was in three dances. I really hope I can be in the next production. Before the Production was seen by an audience, we had to practise hard every week. The first real audience we performed to two whole schools, a bit of another school and other people who do extra things for us in our school. We performed for them at twelve o’clock on the twenty first of September.

On the first night of the production, I was really scared to perform in front of my family. I just acted like my sister who was the main act (Cindy)  and pretended that I wasn’t scared. When I went onto the stage I was not that nervous. All I was thinking about was what I would do in the holidays and how I could make it fun for myself. I am pretty sure that I looked good from a view in the audience.

On the twenty first, twenty second, twenty third, twenty fourth and twenty fifth our school produced a production about Cindy. The whole title is Cindy In Da House, the production was about a story based on Cinderella but a bit different. On the twenty first, the matinee was shown to three other schools other than Pt England School and two preschools.

The three other days it was shown at night at seven o’clock. On the twenty fifth, the production was performed to the whole school who was there. It was not as good as the night productions and the matinee.

Because it was performed four times, that meant a lot of practice for the people in the production. Lots of people said it was great so the people in the production didn’t practise for nothing. Cindy In The House was awesome from my point of view, but I don’t know about the next production. If I were to give a rating a would give it a big 4/5.

The San Diego Zoo

WALT: Think about my purpose and reader by planning my recount.

The class was called to the mat and our teacher said that we were, “going to the Zoo”! Everyone was excited until we saw on our class site that we were just going to visit the San Diego Zoo website. I was very very very very…  disappointed.

In writing we have been learning like writing two introductions and marking one. This one my friend marked and I thought that I would put in the first one I wrote on my blog. Comment to say if you agree with Rima or not.

Room 6 Fear Factor

Today was a normal day in writing, until Mr Goodwin did something weird and crazy. He only does this some days but I think this is the day someone just might vomit. Sorry I forgot to say what our teacher was doing, he was making a Fear Factor for our class!

In writing this week, I learnt that when planning writing it is good to plan the whole thing not one by one. It might nolt work for you, but it works for me. The top writing below the WALT is the introduction to the whole writing. The rest is the planning for the rest of the writing.

 This Week I have learnt about Grasslands and the animals that live in it. I have also learnt about what sort of animals there are. For example: an carnivore is a lion an that means that lions only eat meat. There are lots that I learnt about grasslands, like that the lion king was set in grasslands.

Little Egg Friend

WALT: Think about my purpose and reader by planning my recount.

Our teacher has been getting us to do weird things. First noodles, then blindfold now egg friend race. How could our teacher get more silly.

Image result for egg with facesBefore the race, we had to get into pairs and our teacher would give us a friend, a egg friend. Once we got a egg friend, we had to give it a name and face. After the whole class had  done that, we were given the instructions to stand up and line up outside. Nobody had a clue what we were doing until…  we ended up at the park.

Every pair got a spoon and then our teacher told us we were going to do a race with our buddy. Everyone had to decide in their pairs, who was going to go first through the playground. Me and my partner decided that I would go first. Once I started, I was coming first until I took a risk. The reason why I took that risk (climbing up the climbing wall) was because I did not know what I could go the easy way.

When I took the risk, I dropped my egg friend, Pweggy. When I dropped Pweggy, she started to cry with yolk and it look like she got smashed in the nose, which looked painful. After I was finished and it was Presayus’ turn to race, she did not crack Pweggy. When the whole race finished, we all went back to class. Our Pweggy had to go into the bin.

Over all I thought it was a good race. Pweggy experienced the playground and a smashed nose. Even though she did not make it, I was happy for everyone else who’s egg buddy’s make it. But what you did not know is three of the eggs who survived, got eaten by our teacher and my friend (Htet Htet) is still angry at him for eating the three eggs.
