Fred and his amazing night powers

We are learning to: Share our understanding of the text as it is read

The book we are reading is Fred and his amazing night powers. This were the answers for the sheet.

Why did the boys make Fred sleep on the bottom bunk?
So they didn’t have the responsibility for Fred getting hurt.

The reason why it says responsibility for Fred getting hurt is because he is blind. The reason why the book is called Fred and his amazing night powers is because he is blind and his ears works alot and can hear well.

Year Five and Six Camp Recount

Hey there did you hear about the Camp at Pt England school? Well if you have or if you haven't I’m going to tell you about it and what we did. We had the Camp in three days with alot of fun. In those three days where Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. If you were wondering who the Camp was for well it was for the Year five and Six at Pt England school. Thats why its called Year Five and Six Camp. The Camp was held at Pt England school and thats where we slept at the school. It was awesome. We had groups and I was in the Care Bears. Its called that because we care but like the little bears.

On Thursday afternoon just before lunch my group and teacher leader went down to Pt England Beach to kayak. When Care Bears got there we saw the kayak crew and when we came closer to the beach we saw Mr Burt and helpers eating lunch. Then Mr Burt stood up and talked to us little while then the Care Bears went down to the water and started to put some safety life vests on to keep us safe in the water. When we went in to our kayaks we had to put in foot bottom foot.

The day before that my group went cooking. The boys cooked fish, fritters and thing like that. While they do that the girls baked cookies and cheese scones. Who were you cooking with I hear you say? Well we cooked with Mrs Jarman. She was really cool to cooked with. First the of all we picked our partners or our partners picked us. My partner was Seini and she picked me. She was all right to work with. Next thing we did was we went through instructions then started making the cookies. When we were finish one tray of tasty cookies some of the teachers came in. They asked what we cooking and we told them chocolate chip cookies. After that we were so hungry we had a cookie each and they were divine and real tasty.

Next Year will probably not be that exciting then this year. But it might. So thats the end of 2014 Year Five and Six Camp. Can’t wait till to next year. Came back next year for 2015 Year Five and Six Camp!

The thing I’m looking forward to is the top town. By the way top town is when two teams get together and they battle each other through obstacles and knock the other teams castles down and… I don’t know the rest of the game because its my first time. So I don’t know some things but I will soon.

Be back to find out more about the Year Five and Six camp.

Talita Hauhake Harakeke

We have been reading about a Hauhake Harakeke ceremony. This is one thing that the children in the story made from the flax blades.

Did you know in 1987 people planted lots of flaxes then seventeen years later they harvest the flaxes. Then Nanny Kahumanu comes over and teachers them how to make flax blades.

This is what I learn and I think you learn something too.
Thank you for reading this or looking at it.

Life Cycle of a Frog

Hi there  have you ever learned or heard about the life cycle of a frog? Well if you have or you haven't you’ve come to the right place to read.  I’m going start off with telling you about how the life cycle. Which starts off with the egg then grows into a little frog that is called a froglet. After that it grows more than becomes an  Adult frog. Okay if its getting a bit boring or if you're liking it keep on reading it  because we’re just begun.

The frog starts off with lots and lots of little egg with sticky jelly between the eggs which is called a spawn. Well they live their life inside its little shell some eggs died not like some of us. I hear you say how or I know where this is going ,well some of their predators bite into the shell and when the egg hatches it dies.

Once the egg hatches its a  cute little tadpole. The tadpole haves gills to breath oxygen and a  tail. Soon enough it will be a froglet or a little frog. The tadpole’s gill and half of its tail will disappear when it turns into a froglet.

The froglet is the second to last part of the show so go and get or if you don’t need stay here for the froglet stage. The first thing that the froglet would do is get out of the water with its little tail and a few days later its gills will disappear so does its tail. They will hide under rocks and leaves so predators won’t  eat them.

It comes to the final stage of Talita’s show when the froglet turn into an adult frog. As the years go by the froglet keeps on growing and growing until it grows into an adult frog. When it does the tail disappear and the frog goes off to hunt and find a boyfriend or a girlfriend. After all of that stuff they have eggs.
