Inquiry Diary 1

Walt: Make a model for toilets.

In inquiry we are building or making something to improve the school. We decided that we should make toilet model. There's gonna be two toilets for the year seven and eight boys and girls. My group is with Javan, Yvonne and myself. Our actual model hasn't got much progress. But our sketches have real detail. The sketches have gone from paper to digital. We used floor planner to get the design. The boys toilet needs a little work but it is to come very soon. Here's the floor planner idea.

New Zealand at War (ANZAC)

WALT: Comparing and Connected: - I compare the similarities and differences in texts, characters, plots, settings, themes and information sources. I can make connections between a range of texts.

This movie is a movie about me and partner, Yvonne sharing one our links between the story's we read with our reading group. Our link is between the story Harry's war and Te Hokowhitu atu and the Maori Pioneer Battalion. The theme of the link is that they wanted to go home but they couldn't because there was not enough ships to come and pick them up and drop them off in New Zealand.

In this presentation it shows a synopsis of each story, article, poem and narrative. A synopsis is a short explanation of a movie, book, story, poem and loads more. It also has a slide that shows links that I thought of with a team effort Yvonne and Cameo. My second to last slide (so what) has a video to match the answers but the iPad was not working so we had to film again. That did work so the last slide has my answers.

Problem Solving-Week 8

WALT: Use fraction to find the answer.

Task: Make a copy of the presentation. Complete the presentation with a friend. Remember to add in all of
your working so that others my understand your solution.

In Problem Solving this week, we learnt about how to spilt the the fraction to get the biggest fraction. For example; 2/8 and 3/6. I can tell that 2/6 is the biggest fraction because if you dived the denominator and the numerator by 2 it would make  1/3 and if you have 2/8, you dived the denominator and the numerator by 2 it would make 1/4. So 1/3 is bigger than 1/4 so the answer is 2/6.

Symbolism

In extension, we have been given a task to find a partner and tell each other what are the most important things in our life's. We had five minutes to do this and five minutes to draw a symbol from the important thing in our life's. My partner was Yvonne who drew this picture from what I told her. If you guess my important things in my life is God and family then you are right.
